Maihndra’s toughest off-roader Thar has been revamped and has some sexy new changes. The much-need AC and heater now come as a standard fitment in the new CRDe version only. Also, the Thar now comes with an engine immobilizer.
The Thar when launched in India made the off roading enthusiast flock to Mahindra dealers to get one soon. Many bought just for the sheer looks and weekend fun. The Customers always demanded a few features which included a Air-conditioning, hard Top and bucket seats at rear.
The latter 2 features have not made in but the company certainly have equipped with Thar with a factory fitted A/C. The immobiliser is also a important features considering the theft rates are alarming especially in the NCR regions.
The new features come only in the CRDe variant which is powered by a 2.5 CRDe engine which generates 105@3800 RPM Max Power and Max torque of 247 Nm @1800-2000 RPM. The Thar gets Drive-by-wire technology which helps in quicker and controlled throttle response. The Thar gets 9 inch booster with disc brakes in front and drum in rear 4wd high / low ratio for superior all weather and terrain traction.
